Red Herring Global 100: Four award winners are
from the Greater Zurich Area
The latest Red Herring Global 100 confirms last
year’s trend: The business location Greater Zurich Area is a
global hotbed for information technology companies. Four out of
the five award winners from Switzerland hail from the Greater
Zurich Area.
In January, Red Herring has published the Red
Herring Global 100, an annual list of the 100 most promising
technology start-ups worldwide. Five Swiss companies are among
the winners. Four of them are located in the Greater Zurich
Area. They are Semantic System, Hocoma, Kooaba and Procedural.
The Red Herring Gobal 100 is based on
quantitative and qualitative criteria such as financial
performance, technological innovation, corporate strategy and
market penetration, as well as company reputation among its
industry peers. All these factors combined establish the list as
a valuable directory for some of the technologically and
business-wise most promising start-up companies worldwide.
